Make sure the cake is totally cooled before you frost it.
for the icing
To melt the butter, use a small saucepan or a microwave-safe dish. The liquid will thicken into a paste when you stir in the chocolate powder.
The chocolate mixture should be transferred to a medium-sized mixing basin. Mix in the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract while the mixer is set at low speed.
After everything is combined, increase the mixer's speed to medium-high and beat for about 5 minutes, or until the frosting is fluffy and smooth. Apply to the cooled cake.
